A UNIQUE "STRIKE."
Perhaps tiie most uuiqati strike on record occurred at Itnnanga recently. A concert had been held, and the inevitable dunce followed. All went well until about 2 a.m.. when- the M.C. announced a "Leap, year" dance.- To his astonish- , ment, however, the ladies went *' on 1% / strike." and refused to engage partners. The orchestra, nevertheless, played the waltz through. The MX'. a»noiut<>*l another dance, but this time "the boot •was on tlte other foot," ami the men retaliated by not participating. Again the orchestra played the music, but no dancers came forward. The "double event" was too much for the M.C., who declared the -<iauce at an end.
