GERMAN OFFICER'S TRIP
At Richmond Police Court Marie Braggaga, a German subject, described as a clerk, was charged with failing to register as an alien enemy. Detective-sergeant George said that "the woman told him that she was a Spaniard by birth. At first she said she married an Italian in June. 1914. at Leipzig. Germany, and that in September. 1914, her husband rejoined the Italian army to go to Salonika. But when it was pointed out to her
that the Italian army was not mobilised and that Salonika was not a fighting centre ir. September. 1914. she admitted that her husband was a lieutenant in the Prussian army, and was lighting for the enemy now. The prisoner also declared that her husband came to England for a week in 1915, and that She did not know how he got there. S'he had a letter from him alittle time after his return saying that he was fighting again and that he jvas well. She had come to England with a German passport. !
