At the Magistrate's Court, Balclutha, Mr Acbeson, S.M., imposed fines of 30s and 50s on two defendants charged with offering lice- : nfected sheep for sale. A third man, who was practically a "new chum" sheep dealer, charged with the same offance, was let oft" with sb. (Magistrate Acbeson intimated bis intention of increasing these fines till they reached thejmaximum.
