Maniototo A. and P. Association.
The annual meeting of the Maniototo A. and P. Association was held at Ranfurly on Saturday. 25th August. Notwithstanding the very bad weather there was a good attendance of members. Present Messrs J. Nicolson (president in the chair), A. Cleugh, W. Crawford, J. Glenn, J. O'Neill, .Ta?. Mitchell, D. Duncan, W. Mawhinney, VV. M. Mawhinney, D. Murray, A. Cromb, Wm. Pringle, H. W. Davis' P. Bleach C. A. Dougherty, and J. Reid (secretary). The minutes were read, and confixmed on the motion of Messrs D. Duncan and Wilson Mawhinney. On moving the adoption of the balance-sheet, the President congratulated the members on the posioion of the Association. He also referred to the small number of entries in the stud classes of sheep and urged members to pay more attention to these classes as they are the most important in our district. After referring to various items in the balance-sheet, he moved its adoption, which was seconded by Mr Bleach and carried. It was as follows: i

Mr P. Bleacb moved—That the show, be held as usual on 13th December, and any profits derived frum same be presented to some patriotic fund. — Seconded by Mr D. Duncan. As an amendment, Mr A. Cleugh mo7ed —That there be no show until after the war.—Seconded by Mr J. Nicolson. The amendment wa3 lost by a large majority. Moved by Mr Wilson Mawhinney, and seconded by Mr Mitchell —That the money in hand (£4O) be placed in the bank on fixed deposit for two years. As an amendment it was moved by Mr Bleacb, and seconded by Mr Cleugh—That the money in band be invested in tvar loan certificates. — Motion lost. A farther amendment was moved by Mr Crawford, and seconded by Mr Dougherty—That 50 per cent of the association's money be invested in war loan certificates.—Carried. On the motion of Mr Mawhinney, seconded by Mr A. Cleugh, the secre- | tary was voted a bonus of £5 si, and the auditor £1 la. Nicolson Mr Bleach moved a vote of thanks to the retiring president which was carried by acclamation. This concluded a very successful meeting.
