Soldiers' Coupons.

A Useful New Scheme. The new soldier coupons which were first placed on sale in Wellington lasr. week 3'mmediataly attracted public attention and are likely to become a very popular form of gift to send to the front. The idea is that ihe holder of the* coupons is entitled to exchange them for food or any description of goods that can be obtained at Y.M.C.A. canteens. As is generally known, these "'huts'* or canteens foiiow the men vury closely wherever they are engaged, and as a matter of fact the New Zealanders are better supplied in this respect than any other section of the army. The Post Oftica has undertaken the handling- and distribution of these coupons, and is issuing them from every Money-order Office throughout the Dominion at their face value and free of all exchange. They are done up in neat little half-crown and five shilling booklets containing ten and twenty 3d coupons. They should be especially valued by the people who wish to avoid the extravagance, waste, and uncertainty of sending parcels which may never reach th&ir destination wr may be quite, useless when they ;;-. The coupon system is designed to enabls i the soldier to got what he wiinis jußt at the time when he is able to make use of it.
