The first assistant (Mr M'Donald) in the post office has been transferred to Wellington, one of the junior members of the staff here (Mr Holland) being raised to his position. Recently we lost our popular messenger, Master J. Marslin, who was promoted and transferred to Mosgiel. Both of these young officials were very popular owing to their obliging and courteous disposition. The annual meeting of the Maniototo A. and P. Association takes place at Ranfurly, at 2 p.m., on Saturday afternoon, 25th inst. As the question of holding or postponing tha show this year will probably crop up, all members holding strong opinions one way or the other should attend.

The Farmers' Union shooting match, last Saturday, for the Mathias Shield passed off very successfully. The winner proved to be D. Duncan, jun., with T. A. Lowis second. We expect a report next week.
