, Maintenance of Production. e Mr W. D. Hunt, commissioner, has issued the following report:— e In connection with th« Information Cards sent out to farmers throughout 3 the Otago .Military District, these'are coming in steadily, and up to the pre--1.572 returns have' been received. While production is being maintained, from all the information received, it seems that development and improvement work on farmsgenerally, and also - maintenance is being neglected. Development work, of course, does not matter while the War is on. Neglect of maintenance, .however, is more serious, and will have to be met by considerable labour and expenditure when comes to'an end.
