ONE AGAINST FIVE
* * , The 'Matin' correspondent on the British front relates some brilliant exploits by British airmen, notably by a. captain just 21 years of age, who has scored more victories than the number of his years. On a recent Sunday t'he'.captain set out at daybreak and made for the enemy's lines. Two Albatrosses made for him, but one of them recognising him quickly retired, and the second turned as "though to follow suit.- but was. caught, and fell ..in flames. The British airman conturned his flight, and when over Cambra: was met.Jay five enemy aeroplanes. He ascsnded to 13,000 ft, but the five enemy machines also rose, and succeeded in getting between bim and his own lines. The Englishman ' was not to be so easily caught. He made straight the nearest enernv machine, brought it down with his machine-gun fire' aud then .dashed through the midst "of- the rest of trie enemy, and returned safely to the British lines none the worse for'the adventure, except that his aeroplane had its left wing riddled with shot.
