HER "ADS." " A danger to society " was the description applied by the Official Receiver at Bradford County Court the other day to a debtor named Hannah 11. Donaldson, wife of a master printer of Haslingden, Lancashire. Extraordinary disclosures were made fin the course of Mrs Donaldson's examination in bankruptcy. Her husband had got into difficulties through extravagant living, due to his wife's statements about ail income under her grandfather's will. She had got into correspondence with, gentlemen all over the country. On the
strength of a fictitious private income and prospects she had bo&nred coSrabje sums of money on promises of marriage and several men had been brought to bankruptcy. She had acted as private secretary to one Yorkshire gentleman, taken proceedings for breach of promise again™ another, lad played the ' a,KI - Vi°mised others great things, after marriage. She had obtained ; m fiowance of £l5O a year from one and theiro were piles of Jettei'6 a:id correspondence from men to whom debtor had been making love.
