Cr Strong said it had been suggested to him that one or two of the seats in the Recreation Reserve should be taken out of the ground, where they are too shaded by trees for use at present, and placed in convenient spots where they could be made use of.—The council were not' favourable to the suggestion. His Worship asked •if the cattle about the town had been, behaving themselves lately. The vegetables in his garden had been eaten since last meeting. The council were unsympathetic; no one seamed to think that a cow should be punished for eating a few v.sgntables at this time of the year.
