Football.
On Saturday week a return match between the football teams of theßanfurly and Naseby schools was played on the recreation ground at Naseby The details of the game, interesting aB they might be to the players, Will probably be of little interest to the general public, who care little which boy enhanced the score and which boy kicked at the ball when it was near him, and which boy "potted" a goal, an i which one ran round the corner and so on. This return game seems to have been a somewhat more evenly contested one than the one dayed at Ranfurly on the preceding Saturday This was no doubt owing to the inclusion in the Naseby school team of Frank Lemm, a boy who . has recently left school but who was allowed by the visiting team to play for the home i team. Their sportsmanlike action j was warmly applauded' by the gbodly number of spectators who had as- - sembled to see the game. The scores were 8 to 7 against Naseby, the combination of the Ranfurly team beinsr too good for the local -earn. As the day was a bitterly cold one, the home teati had arranged for a cup of warm : tea for their visitors before they nee-l-ed to take the road home, an act of thought!ulness which Captain Forrester of the visitors said in his l.ttle speech of thanks was highly appreciated In the match at Ranfurly the home team proved far too strong for the visitors the scores being 30 to nil.
