Campbell, of Auckland, and Strode will take their seats in the Upper Ch.-.mber this session. At tbe Taieri County Council meeting today, communications were received covering resolutions passed at a public meeting" at Clyde, and by tbe Maniototo County Council, With reference to the latter, it was proposed by Roberts and agreed to —" That the County Engineer be instructed forthwith to accompany tbe Engineer to the Maniototo County Council on a flying survey of the interior line from Mutton Stream to Coyle's surveyed railway line in the Maniototo Plains."—"That the Clerk be instructed to communicate with the Chairmen of the Man* iototo, Vincent, and Lake Counties, requesting that they will be good enough to bring before their Councils the wish of this County Council to co .operate with them in the matter of securir-g railway coram uuictttion to the West Coast, via Sirathtaieri, and requests thsm to be good enough to communicate theii? views oa thi3 subject."
