PRESENTATION.

At a Seccnfc meeting of tiie Mount Ida Pastoral Company, Limited, it was reselvcd that a bonus of JBSO should be sented to Mr. George Oliver, the Manager of the Compauy, in recognition of his valuable services, especially in regard to the extension of the Company's operations by the purchase of Hugged Ridges Station. It was intimated to the Directors that Mr. Oliver would rather ivceive a present, which he could keep, than the money. Accordingly a handsome gold watch, with chain and appendages, was procured, and suitably engraved. This was presented to Mr. Oliver by some of the Directors at George's Yictoria Hotel on Saturday last. _ Mr. Olitse acknowledged the gift in the following terms : —Mr, Chairman and Gentlemen, —I beg to thank you most sincerely for this valuable present, and, through you, all the members of the Company. I regar/i it less for its intrinsic value than for the fact that it is a recognition by the Company that I have dune i my duty to their satisfaction. In wearing this watch I shall always have a grateful remembrance of the kind feeling which has prompted you in giving it. You may rest assured that I shall continue to do all in my power to promote the Com-
