Q.UNN AND J^ 0S S, "RTIOLESAIE AltD RETAIL FURNISHING & GENERAL IRONMONGERS & IMPORTERS, PBDTCES - STREET, DUKEDIK. PXTNSTAN BEEWEEY. COLONIAL WINE & CORDIAL MANUFACTORY, MONTE CHRISTO. CLYDE. JD. FERAUD takes the present o opportunity of informing residents of the Northern Goldfields and the general public that his Factory being replete with every convenience, he is now turning out an article not to be equalled. Mr. Feraud has succeeded in producing ABOSIATIO Toiao BITTEE "WXSCES, which are not only agreeable beverages, but also have excellent medicinal qualities. The following is Professor Black's report;— "University, Donedin, Otago, New Zealand Laboratory. Glass Beverages. November sth, 1875. I have examined for Mr. J. D. Feraud, of Monte Christo, Clyde, Otago, two samples' of Aromatic Tonio Bitters, with the following result; No. 827 is a sherry colored, and No. 828 is a port wine red colored liquid; they aro both perfectly transparent showing the punty of tie water and other substances employed in their Eianufaetnro. These two beverages have a slight aoid ehemical reaction, and possess aa agreeable ccol bitter iaate, blended with a sensation of sweetness, arising from the saccharine matter of the fruit of which they are the fermented extract. I have also examined the aromatic and. other flavoring substances used by Mr. Feraud in their manufacture, and from the proportions in which thoy aro blended with the fruit wine, they muet bo pronounced perfectly safe, and freo from anything like deleterious properties. I consider this wine, therefore, an agreeable and perfectly safo beverage, and when diluted with three or four times their bulk of water they will mnio a good cooling summer drink JAMES G. BLACK, ..
