WHOLESALE AND BETAIL FURNISHING & GENERAL IRONMONGERS & IMPORTERS, PeINCES - STEFET, DtTNEDIN. DUN STAN BEE WEE Y. COLONIAL WINE & CORDIAL MANUFACTORY, MONTE CHRISTO, CLYDE. | D. EEEArD takes the present " • opportunity of informing residents of the Northern Goldfields and the general public that, his Factory being replete with every convenience, he is now turning out an article not to be equalled. Mr. Feraud. has succeeded in producing AEOMATIC TONIC BITTEE WI^ES, which are not only agreeable beverages, but also have excellent medicinal qualities. The following is Profesßor Black's report:— " University, Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand Laboratory. Class — Beverages. November sth, 1875. I have examined for Mr. J. D. Feraud, of Monte Christo, Clyde, Otago, two samples of Aromatic Tonic Bitters, with the following result: No. 827 is a shprry colored, and No. 828 is a port wine red colored liquid ; they are botli perfectly transparent showing the purity of the water and other substances employed in their manufacture. These two beverages have a slight acid chemical reaction, and possess an agreeable, cool bitter laste, blended with a sensation of sweetness, arising from the saccharine matter of the fruit of which they are the fermented extract. . ', I have also examined the aromatic and other flavoring substances used by Mr. Feraud in their manufacture, and from the proportions in which they are blended with, the fruit vrine, they must be pronounced perfectly safe, and freo . from anything liko deleterious properties. , . I consider this wine, therefore, anagreeable and perfectly safe beverage, and when diluted with three or four times their bulk of water, they will make a good cooling summer drink. JAMES G. BLACK, ' Provincial Analyst, 1 " COLONIAL WINKS, CORDIALS, AND STRUTS. ~ Either in .Bulk or Bottle. Orders frc-ip any part of the Provincepunc(uilly a ftended to. J. D. FERAUD.
