J p.- FERAtJD takes the presei « opportunity of informing residents of the Northern Goldfields arid tile general public that his Factory being replete with every convenience, he is now'turning out an article not to be equalled. : . . Mr. Feraud has succeeded in producing AaOMATIC TOMIC BITTEE "WINES, which are no); only agreeable beverages, but also have excellenfmedicinal qualities. The following-is Professor Black's.report:— " University, Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand Laboratory. Gl'as s—S ever'dgt\s\ '■'•]■ November sth; 1875. I have examined for Mr. J. D. Feraud, of Monte Ghristo,- Clyde, Otago, two samples of Aromatic Tonic Bitters, with the following result: No. 827 13 a sherry-colored, and No. 828. is a port wino red colored- liquid ; they lire; both perfectly , transparent showing the .purity of the water and.other substances employed in their manufacture. 'Lhese two beverages have a slight acid ohemicul reaction, and possess an .agreeable, cool bitter tastej blended with a sensation of sweetness, arising from the saccharine matter of tho fruit of which they ai-e the.fermented extract. -'■ .'■;.-. ;■ ■ I have also examined the aromatic and other flavoring substances used-by Mr. Feraud in their manufacture, and from the proportions in which they are blended with the fruit wine,.they must be pronounced perfectly safe, .arid free from anything like deleterious properties.,.;; ■ . ;-.. ■ I consider; this wine, therefore, an agreeable and perfectly safe beverage, and when diluted with three or four times their bulk o£ water, they will make a good cooling summer drink.
