TERATJI) takes the present • opportunity of informing residents of the Northern Goldfields and the general public that his Factory being replete with every convenience, he is now turning out an article not tj be equalled. Mr. Feraud has succeeded in producing AKOMATIC TOilC BITTEE WINES, -whieli— agrepable beverages, but also have excellent medicinal qualities. The following is Professor Black's report:— "University, Dunedin, .Otago, Slew Zealand Laboratory. Class Beverages. November sth, 1875. I have examined for Mr. J. D. Feraud, of Monto Chrieto, Clyde, Otago, two samples of Aromatic Tonic Bitters, with the following results No; 827 is n, sherry colored, and No. 828 is a port wine red colored liquid ; they are both perfectly transparent showing the purity of the water and other eubstancos employed in their manufacture. These two beverages have a slight acid chemical reaction, and possess an agreeable, cool bitter taste, blended with a sensation of sweetness, arising from the saccharine matter of the fruit of which they are the fermented extract. I huve also examined the nromatio and other flavoring substances used by Mr. Feraud liu their manufacture, and from the propori tions in which they are blended wish the | fruit wine, they must be pronounced perfectly 1 eafo, and freo from anything like deleterious properties. I consider this wine, therefore, an agreeable and perfectly safe beverage, and when diluted with three or four times their bulk of water, I they will moke e. good cooling summer drink. JAMES G. BLACK, • '• Provincial Analyst.'* COLONIAL WINES, COHDIALS, AND STELTS. Either in Bulk or liottlo. Orders from any part of tho Province punctually attended to. J. D. FEP.AUD.
