HOSPITAL MAINTENANCE.

Sie.—l have a .suggestion to make which 1 think would resulljn promoting the benefit of the Ipcal/hospila-ls ofiSaseby, Qneenstown, Crornvvc!!, Tu'apcka, and Clyde, and''thiii is to. ht.ve a calico ball held at each place,'under the management of say three members of each local Hospital Committee. : Alt the-proceeds to he placed in ope general ]und,'and divided equally amongthenveplaces—-thedresses used to be presented to the several Hospitals.' This was done, in Melbourne in 1853, under the management of Mr. Bruce, uud proved a complete success. I had charge of the decorations, &p. I should be willing to superintend the decorations and give my services at cr.ch place gratis, only having my travelling expenses paid. If this idea meets with the approbation of the inhabitants of' JNaseby, I shalfbe glad to answer any inquiries'made; to ine on the subject.—l am, &c., ;.... Thomas'.Wtßß, Clyde, Jan. 25; 1577.
