DUKSTAN BEEWEEY. COLONIAL WINE & CORDIAL MANUFACTORY, MONTE CHRISTO, CLYDE. ¥ D. FEEAUD takes the present tF o opportunity of informing residents of the Northern Goldfields and the general public that his Factory being replete with every 'convenience, lie is now turning out an article not; t;> be equalled. Mr. Feraud has succeeded in producing AROIIATIC TOMC EITIEE WISES, which are. not; only agreeable beverages, but also have excellent medicinal qualities. The following is Professor Black's report:— " University, ; Dunedin, Otago, New Zea- * land Laboratory. ,i olas it Beverages. November sth, 1875. I have examined for Mr. J. D. Feraud, of Monte Chris to, Clyde, Otago, two samples of Aromatic Tonic Bitters, with the following result; No. 827 is a sherry colored, and No. 828 is a port wine red colored liquid ; they are both perfectly transparent showing the purity of thf; water and other substances employed in their manufacture. These two beverages have a slight acid chemical reaction, and possess an agreeable,, cool hitler taste, blended, with a sensation of. sweetness, arising from the saccharine matter of the fruit of which they are the fermented extract. I have also examined the aromatic and other fluToring substances used by Mr. Feraud in their manufacture, and from the proportions in which they are blended with the fruit wine, they must be pronounced perfectly safe, and free from anything like deleterious properties. I consider tin's wine, therefore, an agreeable and perfectly safe beverage, and when diluted i with three or four times thoir bulk of witter, r.hey will make a good cooling summer drink J A Mllf BG.
