MANIOTOTO COUNTY NOMINATIONS.

Dec. 16. ST. BATHANS. Mr George Purton, the Returning Officer, announced the receipt by him of two nominations for the office of Councillor in the County Council of Maniototo. As for the riding there were to be two councillors, he declared the persons nominated —John Ewing and Robert G. Brown—duly elected. IDABUBN. Mr W. M. "Wade annonnced the receipt of one nomination only on behalf of Adam Holland, who he therefore declared duly elected for the riding of Idaburn. MOUNT IDA. At Naseby Mr H. W. Robinson announced the receipt of three nominations. John Shannon, nominated by James Anderson and Thomas Kenny; John Stuart, nominated by Patrick Bleach and George Murdoch; William .N ewrrian, nominated by . Jacob Lory and Richard Lawer. There being two Councillors and three nominations a poll for the 22nd was announced, which would ''c taken unless, in compliance with the provisions of the Act, either candidate withdrew. Mr John Stewart declined to speak, and Mr Newman was not present. KYEBURN. At Elyeburn, Mr. Wright announced the receipt of one nomination only on behalf of William Williamson, who he therefore declared duly elected for the riding of Kyeburn. HYDE. Mr Macnamara announced the receipt of one nomination only on behalf of John Laverty, who he declared duly elected for the riding of Hyde. PUKETOI, At Hamilton Mr W. L. Bailey similarly announced the receipt of one nomination only on behalf of Thomas Foster, who he declared duly elected for the riding of Puketoi. . SEEPENTINE. Mr JR.. E. Field announced the receipt of three nominations : —John Thomas War burton, nominated by William Warner and George Quayle; John Cogan, nominated by W. H. Munford and Hugh M'Gee ; Robert M'Gregor Turnbull, nominated by Joseph Edmonds and William Faulkner. There being only one Councillor to be elected for the riding of Serpentine a poll was announced to be taken on Fiiday the 22nd.
