Ik consequence of the absence of the Warden at Clyde the mining applications set down for hearing; yesterday were adjourned, aud will probably be tskeu on December 15. From the ' Du-.stan Time? ' we learn that the Hon C. C. Bo wen, Minuter of Justice, arrived at Clyde on Wednesday afternoon list, where, as by arrangement he wag m«t by Mr. Warden Simpson, Mr. Warden Robinson, aud Mr. Wanien Wood. During the evening and following morri-g Mr. Eowea visited and inspect:d the Government buildings in connection with his department ; also the Public Library, Town Hall, and the Clyde Bridge, with the whole of which he expressed himself .veil pleased. The honorable gentleman, who was accompanied by his .ady, dur. ing their short stay, visited several of *he gardens for which Clyde is so famed, and on Thursday iroring proceeded by coach to Dunedin, via Lawrence.
