THE Mount Ida Chronicle FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 1876.

Mb. J. P. Aemstbong, M.P.C. for the Mount Ida District, wishes to meet with as many of his constituents as can conveniently come together on Saturday evening at Naseby. Our worthy member 13 wa 3 r ' considerable personal sacrifice, to the call of the Superintendent to attend the Convention in Dunedin to be held on Wednesday next. As it is, in the ordinary course of events, the last fame Mr. Armstrong will visit Naseby in his present representative capacity, it is of great moment that the meeting on Saturday night should be a good one, and that as ever heretofore it should not be a matter of doubt what the Tiews of the Mount Ida electors are on the important changes of the hour. We would rather see the district sink into the mire of selfabnegation reached by unhappy Riverton than not hold decided opinions and be able to audibly express them. Whatever those opinions may be, Mr. Armstrong will D 3 received, as he deserves to be, with that consideration and respect which his past good services more than entitle hmi to. We venture to add that he is as anxious still to serve this district in any and every capacity as the district is to retain his good services.
