Potentate, by Sir Hercules (sire of the Barb) out of Princess, by Gratis (imported). Marchioness, an own Towton, won the Oaks in 1855. Marchioness has bred in Victoria Rose of Denmark, Fishhook, Angler (sire of the Chrysolite colt, winner of 'the Derby at the late A.J.C. Meeting), and other good animals. (The Marquis, a son, Cinizelli by Stockwell, won the Two Thousand Guineas m 1862; ran second for the Derby, for which he was first favorite, and won the.St. Leger.)
