Mr. Feraud has succeeded in producing : AEOHATIC TOiaC EITTEK WISES, which are not only agreeable beverages, but also have excellent medicinal qualities. The following is Professor Black's report: " University, Duriedin, Otago, New Zealand Laboratory. ' ', Class Beverages, November 5th,.1875. I have examined for Mr. J. D. Feraud, of Monte Ohristo, Clyde, Otago, two samples' of Aromatic Tonic Patters, with the following result: No. 827 is a sherry colored, and No. 828 is a port wine red colored liquid ; they, are both perfectly transparent showing the purity of the water and other substances employed iu their manufacture. These two beverages have a -.slight a : cid chemical reaction, and.possess an agreeable, cool bitter taste, blended with a sensation of sweetness, arising from the saccharine matter of the f'vuit of which they are the fermented extract. 1 have also examined th» aromatic and othor ii;j.voviiij- t-iibsiauces used by Mr. Feraud in their rniuiufacrmv. and lrcm th.s pi•:f.ortiona in r.iiic-b Aicj ar« blended with llio {Vuife vrinf, they'must, be pronounced perfectly safe, and i'veo ' tevvn anything like deleterious properties. : - .■■■'■.""
