SOWBURN.

July 3rd. A supper was given to Mr. Charles Roseveare by the inhabitants of the Sowburn on Friday, 30th June, A. G. Mathias, Esq., in the chair. About forty sat down to a well spread table, but, the schoolhouse being small, we had to, have a second table for the youngsters, numbering twenty, who went in for a good feast. Mr. Matbias read and presented Mr. Roseveare with a well-worded address, which he accepted, and expressed his thanks. Mr. Roseveare has been teacher here for four years, and has given satisfaction to all, which is a hard thing for a teacher to do. After supper was over dancing commenced, and was kept up with spirit until the small hours. Mr. Booth, as usual, kindly gave his services. It is needless to say that everyone enjoyed themselves.
