Mr..Feraud Ims nisceeded in producing AROMATIC TONIC BITTEB WIBJJB, which are not; only agreeable beverages, but nlso have excellent medicinal qualities. The following is Profesßor Black's report:— l" University, Dunedin, Otago, New 2eal»nd Laboratory. Class Beverages, Jfovembor sth, 1875. I have examined for Mr. J. D. Feraud, of "Monto Ohristo, Clyde, Otago, two samples of Aromatic Tonic fitters, -with the following •result; No. 827 is a sherry colored, and No. ,•828 IB a port wine rod colored liquid ; they are both perfectly transparent showing the purity of .the water and other substances employed in their manufacture. These two boverages have a slight, neid /iheraioal reaction, and possess an agreeable, cool bitter taste, blended with a sensation of sweetness, arising from the saccharine matter of the fvu.it of,which they are the fermented I have also .examined the aromatic and other flavoring substances used'by Mr. Feraud in their manufacture, and from the proportions in which they are blended with the fruit wine, they roußt be pronounced perfectly nafe, and free from anything like deleterious jpr »porties. I consider tin's wine, therefore, an agreeable and perfeet.lv safe beverage, and when diluted with three or four times their bulk of water, they will make a pood cooling slimmer drink. .JAMFSG.
