The C oldlields Secretary arrived in ISTaseby yesterday morning, and was in consultation during the afternoon with the Warden. Messrs. de Lautour, Busch, and Shannon as to the best mode of management for the Mount Ida works. The scheme likely to be reported on most favorably has not yet transpired. The specifications for new tenders to be called for to complete the works are being pushed. The monthly 'meeting of the Naseby Volunteer Kire Brigade, was held on Thursday evening last, in the Council C'hanibeis. There was a good attendance of members.— Capt,, Stephens in the Chair. Letter read from Captain stavely, J.'unedin, asking for information, as to the strength of the brigade, and bhe names, of the officers. Kesoli'ed— That the information be granted. The amount of funds now in hand was stated to be £22 19s. Captain Stephens gave uotice that a special meeting of the members of the brigade will be held on Thursday evening next, at 8 30 p.m., for the election of officers, &c. Messrs. vl'Donald and Chapman were apjwinted auditors. The 1 Secretary was instructed to furnish a report of all tines, and monthly and practice meetings. Messrs. Chapman and Collett consented to furnish a report on the. state of the year, &c.
