'.-':."'' ; The advantages gained from these Bells are as follows :—-First, ro cranks being used, and no pulling.required, there, is no danger of their getting out of order, as with'ordinary .Hells :' Se'eoi.d, they can be attached .to doors, safes, &c, giving an alorm in case of burgl.-iry, ,ahH can also be employed to give alarm incase of fire :■ Third, they are perfectly noiseless in their action, and distance is no object.: Fourth* they can be introduced into finished apartments, without interfering in the least with the - papering or painting, as the insulated wire can be made to match any color:' Fifth, the eventual cost of supplying a house with these Bells is considerably less than the ordinary system, owing to the great saving in ■ repairs, as when once properly fixed in position, they do not require to be disturbed again—no ripping up of walls and floors' being required. This system can also be used for communicating between one part of a ship aod another. R.
