(To the Editor of the Mount Ida Cheoniclb.) Sik, —Wanted, a postmaster, has been the grievance of the inhabitants of Cambrian this last week, our present postmaster wishing to find a successor, on the plea that he lias done his share for the postal department without salary ; but he could not find a successor for the price. The mining community individually refuse, on the plea that they do enough with the pick and shovel for her Majesty's revenue for nothing, without being forced to use the pen. Although allowing that sfco v ekeeping has come to a very low ebb, still it has not come to the nothing business yet. Yet not even the threat held out by the Chief Postmaster of-closing our post office would induce anyone of the business men to accept the honor. Now, Mr. Editor, you, or any of your numerous readers, would confer a benefit on. about 150 of her Majesty's subjects residing in and about Cambrian if a scheme could be devised wherewith the head of the postal department could raise £5 or £6 annually, to reward some person able and billing to take charge of her Majesty's mails in Cambrian.—l am, &c., Mineb.
