GOLD FIELDS ACTS AMENDMENT (NO. II.)
[src. :iekyvk.] A Bill intituled an Act to amend "The Gold - fields Act, 1566," and the several Acts amending the same. Be it enacted liy the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1. The short title of this Act shall be " The. Goldfields Acts Amendment Act, 1575 (No. 2)." 2. This Act shall be redd and construed with and as part of "The Goldfields Act, 1866," which last-mentioned Act, and the several Acts amending the same, is and are herein referred to as " the said Acts." 3. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary expressed or implied in " The Goldfields Act, 1866," any person being the holder of ail agricultural lease under the said Act, who shall occupy and carry qii business on land held under such lease, shall be entitled .and authorised so to do without payment for a business license uiider the said Act in that behalf. 4. The 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th sections of the " The Goldfields Act, 1866," are Hereby repealed : Provided always that this repeal shall not affect any act or proceeding done or commenced under the said sections hereby repealed, but the same may respectively be enforced and completed as if this Act had not been passed. 5: The compensation henceforth to bo paid for the determination of the lease, and for any improvements which may have been made on any lands comprised in any lease which may Hereafter be cancelled under the 16th section of " The Goldfields Act, 1866," shall be paid to the "same amount and determined in the same manner as is provided in sections 98 to 103 (both inclusive) of "The Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872," for the determination of pastoral leases over lands outside of Goldfields.
