E. FIELDS ■> . JOHN R. MARTIN ] Audltora ' 12th July, 1875. AUDITORS' REPORT FOB THE HALF-TEAB ENDING 30TH JUNE, 1875. The Auditors have much pleasure in reporting, for the information of the Officers and Brethren of the Lodge, that they have (with the kind assistance of the N.G.) examined the Books of the Permanent Secretary, and found them to be regular and correct in every particular. The Auditors are glad to be in a position to congratulato the brethern upon the prosperous condition disclosed by the Secretary's books, showing as they do a balance of £1065 19s. lOd. to the credit of the Lodge. The Auditors have to state that they found the Management Fund indebted to the Siok Fund in tko sum of £9O 3s. 7d. This apparently large item is, however, accounted for by the fact that the amount of £3O 19s. Bd. has been paid to the Executors of their late Bro. Dr. Dick. This sum was due in September last, and Bhould properly be included in the last half-yearly balance. The Auditors have to explain that Bro. Dr. Whitton, the present Medical Officer of the Lodge, has been paid up to the 18th May las!, so that the calls upon the Management Fund for the current haltyear will bo considerably decreased. The Auditors would recommend the Lodge to apply to the Trustees for a refund to the Management Fund of the per centage on investments over and above 4 per cent., in accordance with tho resolution adopted by the Lodge twelve months ago. Were this done the amount of tho Management Fund would be reduced to tho extent of £45. Tho Auditors desiro further to state that the sum invested by tho Trustees on mortgage and deposit receipts amounts to £775, with a cash balance of £95 13s. <Ld, making a total of £B7O 38. 4d. hold by them. In conclusion, the Auditors desiro to express their obligation to tho Permanent Secretary, for tho services rendered to them in tho performance of their duty, and for the courtesy oxhibitod by him in the explanation of the various details in connection with the several branches of accounts—an assistance which has materially facilitated the duties devolving upon the Auditors.
