The general boundaries of the district are as follows viz.:—Commencing at Mount St. Bathans, thence by the Dunstan Range to the head of Lauder Greek, thence by Lauder Creek to its junction with the Manuherikia River, thence by the Manuherikia to tbe junction of the Poolburn, tlienco by the Poolburn to its junction with the Idabnrn, thence by a line southeast to Rough Ridge, thence by Rough Ridge to South Rough Ridge HilV'then'oe by the ranges to Lammerlaw, thence bj the ranges and Deep Stream to the Taieri River, thence by Allen Creek and a right line to the eastern boundary of the Otago Goldfield, thence by the eastern and northern boundaries of the Goldfield to the starting point.
