The following are copies of correspondence between the Provincial and Colonial Governments in reference to alterations in the Sludge Channel and appropriations asked for :—? Srs, — I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of the Deputy-Superinten-dent's letter of the 14th August uLimo, forwarding a report by the Provincial Engineer upon the subject of deepeniag the Naseby Sludge Channel, which course was recommended by your Honor in a letter to the Colonial Secretary, dated 17th of June last.
