THE LATE BALL AT ST. BATHANS.
f To. theJZditor. of the Movsr Iba Chbosicxe.) Sih. —A correspondent from this place, .whose letter appeared in your last issue (who, by the bye, judging fom his gush* irig style, mps.fc ; be a biti-of a connoisseur in matters relating, to female beauty), speaks very disparagingly of the appear, ane'e of our ladies at the lato ball, which I as one of.t&o9e slighted, cannot allow t<t pass unnoticed. I quite agree with this mighty critic that the ladies from Naseby were neatly and tastefully dressed, and that the belle of the ball'was-undoubtedly: to be selected from among them ; yet I think the compliment might hare been paid in a more gentlemanly manner than by speaking in stfcli terms of us, and hpaping such fulisome flattery on the heads of yonr Naseby fair ones, for which I am sure thej do not thank him. Hoping you will give this' a place in your paper, and that this-judge par excellence or ball-room belles will act with more eoiirtesy ia future.—X am, &c., JxSE.
