At the last meeting of the Oarrinru Municipal Council it was "irtimated lhat the Council loan of £20,000, 7 per cent 30 years' debentures, had been taken up by Mr. V\*. A. Lowe at" 90. The Council substantially recognised the services ot the Mayor (Mr. Shrimski) in neg-viating the i 'un by voting him jS'2SO, as they were of "pinion tint; double that amount would have been charged in the usual way of commission.
