The annual examination of the Macraes school took pkee last Friday.week in the school house, in the presence ofa!largenumber of the parents and friends of the. children. Mr. J. M'Bryde (Palmerston' school and Mr ; F.G. Odell (Hyde school) acting as examiners. ■ The promptness and accuracy displayed by the children in replying to the questions put" to them by the examiners reflects great credit both on the ; teacher, Mr, Neill, and also dn the scholars—who exhibit a marked improvement in their teveral branches of. study during the. past twelve months.
