Reekbbing to the accident to the Arrow and Queenetown coach we noted laßt_ weefr, the ' Observer' states " G-rfeat excitement was created in town last- week, -when it was reported that an accident of a seriouß, if not fatal, nature had happened tio; the mail.coach on its way to Q.ueensfcown. Inquiries, 'however, showed that the mishap was not bo" had .as at first stated, although but for the exceptional circumstance that the vehicle carried but one passenger the result must have, been disastrous. As it is, the driver, Mr. Thomas' Parsons, sustained, a very severe scalp wound which, with the general shake, will lay him up for, some days. As the particulars have been told us, it i 3 miraculous bow he escaped with his life. It seems that shortly after leaving Arrowtown one of the horses-became restive and ultimately bolted while going down Patterson's Hill. Mr. Parsons strove hard to keep the toam in hand, and when he saw there was ' a likelihood of danger, told the only passenger, Mr. Sproule, of Mount Ida, who was" oh the box, to jump off," which he did fortunately, without sustaining any injury. Air. Parsons still stuck" to -his horses, but while crossing a little gully, one of the wheels " burst," and the conveyance 1 of course capsized, the driver with .it. It is supposed one of the wheels struck him "on the head, as when Mr. Sproule went- lip to him he was lying on his back covered with blood. Mr. Parsons was quickly removed to Mr. M'Entyre's, near whose farm the accident happened, and from thence was conveyed" in Mr; Pattersou's tr ip, to the -Nev Orleans Hotel, Arrow. Fortunately, no bones are broken, and a few days will probably gee the sufferer about again. After the upset, which completely smashed .'the coach, the horses went off a couple of miles with the forest? riage, clearing three'or, four fences in thei mad career. It is a matter for. congratulation tbeiresult'is no worse, J and wehope it will lead to only 'sncK"horses brir-g used- in the ibjSl couches as can bu ihorou"ii'v n-ik-d upon." - -
