Wilson, residence area. - . 1 Special Claim. —The application of A. L. Nicholas and others for a special claim of "20 acres at the Shepherd's Hut, Hamilton, which had beeri partially heard before Mr. Warden? Stratford, was further heard. Mr. Nicholas said that his party were willing to accede to the suggestions of Mr. Warden Stratford, by which they should be allowed, to have 15 a,cres with proviso that the Perseverance Company should be permitted to take their tail race through the ground without compensation. Mr, Herlrhey appeared on b > half of the Perseverance Company. He produced a memorandum from Mr. 'Warden Stratford, setting forth terms upon which he .would be willing, in case of agreement with the Cornish Company, (Nicholas , and, party,., the, present■ apph-. cants), to recommend a special claim for the Perseverence Company. The Warden visited the, ground,'in company with applicants and objectors, and as the agree.ment suggested by Mr. Warden Stratford had not been come to by the parties, recommended a . grant of 12 acres, to include the extended claim at present occupied: by Nicholas and Company.
