HAMILTON BRIDGE.
We have been requested by the Chairman of the Hamilton Committee - to publish the following correspondence from Mr. Oliver, M.P.C. We think there is little reason to' fear any alteration of the site now. It is to be hoped the contract will be accepted, and the work put in hand early in the .spring:— ' ' Dunedin, July 22,1874. Mr. B. S. Booth, Hamilton : . Deab Sib, —I do not think you need fear the adverse influences brought to bear against" the construction of the bridge. I have reason to believe that tenders.will be called for in a week or two. _lt will be settled at an Executive meeting on Friday.—Tours truly, K Oiiysr. Dunedin, July 23, 1874. Mr> Booth : ' - Deab Sib, —I have to-day the pleasure of* infqrjning you that I am in receipt of a memo.from the Government to the effect that " the necessary steps are being taken preparatory to calling for tenders for the bridge at Hamilton. —Yours truly, E.
