Geesn, M.P.C., while addressing his constituents'at Blueskin, is reported in the ' Dunstan Times' of yesterday, to have said : —The Grbldfields Secretary joined at' the eleventh hour—none of the O-oldfields' members liked him, for he had attended meetings of the Opposition, and then turned to the Government side.' - » At the meeting of the Clyde Town Council, 9 P Hazlett said' very pertinently in reference to'the Provincial Secretary's memorandum, referred to our Topics of Talk : —lf in the opinion of the G-overnment such an officer and staff we're reqxured for the Province, the salary should be paid out of the" Provincial revenue, he would most strongly object. It was finally resolved that the Government be informed that Clyde is. not in want'of such ai officer, and declines to contribute. "- The following scale of charges for grave sections in the St. Bathau's Catholic Church Cemetery- has been agreed ,to. by the Committee : —£s for the space of four graves, £4 for the space of three graves, £3 for the space of two graves, £llos. for the space of one grave. The ,Hon. Sec. or Chairman, in the absence of the local Pastor, should be applied to by those deairibus of marking off sections.
