(To the Editor of the Mount Ida Cheonioee.) St. Bethans, 15th June.

Sib, —It appears that at last the township of St. Bathans will be sold early in August. It is to be hoped that there will be no further sham . about it this time, as holders of business licenses have had to renew their licenses many times on the strength of former promises that the sale would take place, so very long ago. I will venture to hope also, on behalf of tho St. B.itbaus community at large that a similar process of " stringing " will not be adopted with regard to the erection of the telegraph and post offices, the site of which lias beed chosen and marked off several months since. There is general indignation expressed by residents here because there appears to have been no sum of money placed on the Government Estimates for repairs of the load between St. Bathans and Hills Creek, ulthuugh it is uudersioud that our local Progress Committee urged our representatives to move iu this ma'lee. If the Progress Committee so urged our representatives it is evident that the latter did not condescend to utter a word about it. [We have been shown a memorandum Tby the Provincial Engineer in answer to the inquiry of the Svuretary for
