WASTE LANDS BOARD.
The usual weekly meeting of the Board, was held .last week. Present—The "Chief Commissioner, Messrs. Bastings, Butterworth, Clark, Reid, and Strode. ' The cases of Mr. Luks and Sir P. D. Bell came on again, Mr. Connell appearing for the -former, and Mr. G-. Cook for the latter. After discussion, it was determined to wait the opinion of the Jud' r e on the case already submitted. ° Mr. Thomas. Stanbrook -withdrew from his .engagement as auctioneer for the D.nostan district. The resignationwas accepted, and tenders arranged'tt> be called for.. • . ...... P " NASEBY—APPLICATION TO PURCHASE. Mr. John Eccles wrote, applying to purchase a quarter of an acre at the Welcome Inn, ISaseby. _ " . Mr. Henry Anderson, manager, of the IHt or Miss ftaee Company, wrote objecting. The land, he stated, notwithstanding the opinion of the Mount Ida Mining Association to the contrary, was more or less payably auriferous, and was in the centre of mining operations, with which the sale might some day interfere. Tiie. matter was referred to the : District Land Officer for his report. DEFEHJJED PAYMENTS—A NEW POINT. The District Land Officer, Naseby, asked instructions as to improvements made on section 2, block 111., Bock -and Pillar. The ballot decided that the 'suction should go to Mr, Joseph Xellyj' instead of Mr. William Price', the'owner of the improvements," and Mr. Kelly would not pay the valuation for'improvements'.
