(To the Editor of the Mount Ida Cheouicle.) Naseby, May 11. Sib,—Please record my thanks to Mr. J. G. Bremnu- for the compliment he designed to pay me in his letter in your Saturday's issue. Its value is however, greatly depreciated by his offering them to the wrong individual; " A Digger " never aspired to so high a position as ihe one he indicates. It is filled by a much inore worthy man than your bumble correspondent. I am pleased to see that my letter has hud the desired effect—it has " drawn the badger,' it has unmasked <the " big 'Scotchman." As he is now cut of his hole, I do tot care to touch him, tbougk.'a'digger, orl should be contaminated thereby. He'is better to be left to itrawl ba■;k to his hole again, his doings will not boar the light "of day and fair argument. He must—as he did when a "Digger" exposed.one of his misdeeds your journal some years ago —adopt the personal, invectivev.insulting style.
