The Race has pibst right of Sixteen Government Heads from the permanent waters of the north branch and tributaries of the Kakanui River. The Race has good fall and high level, and capable of being extended for a larger supply, Work to the valuo of £2500 has been done on the Race, and in constructing two large Dams. The ,Government have agreed to advance £IOOO for the completion of the Race, and a deed has been executed with tho Government to that effect. There has been 336 ounces of gold taken; from a claim held by the Company at a nett profit of 225. per ounce on the gold obtained, after paying water at £6.per Government head per week, at its present price. Early application is necessary, as the object, of the Company in offering the shares for sale is to get tho Race to a more permanent, supply of water before the winter sets in.
