The ship Dorette has arrived at Auckland. She brings 251 immigrants. There were several cases of scarlet feVer during the last ten days before her arrival, which will cause a short detention in quarantine. The Claud Hamilton took seventy passengers from Greymouth for the Palmer rush, and refused sixty at Hokitika. There is little doubt but that Sullivan left Auckland, but the authorities keep his destination a strict secret. The report that he left lor Jingland originated .from the fact of a passage taken by him in the Hindosran, but the agents, on learning the character of the passenger, returned the money. At the O'hristcljurcii Supreme Court John Wilmliurst, late surgeon of the s)ii D Isles of the froujh, was convicted of misusing medical comforts. His counsel argued that the medical comforts were placed under the surgeon s disposal, and that, although there was waste, therewas no larceny'.
