THE..DTTNEDIN JOOKEY OLTJB AUTUMN MUETING.—SECOND DAY. •The weather to-day was: delightful, and the attendance more than moderate—say between 3500 and 4000. We were glad to observe that the utmost punctuality: was. observed, and that the day's business was concluded so as to enable 'people to return to town at a reasonable hour, The first event-on 'tlie card, the Hurdle Race, brought out a field of six, YLedora. being reserved for the steeplechase; Bismarck, the favorite, fell at the'first hurdle,' and every other, horse, Maid of ■ the Mill excepted, had a-soill. It was an; i easy victory for the .latter, to the great delight of-several of the. book-makers, who had backed her. heavily. 'l'he Jockey Club.Handicap, as might have: been ex- . pected, fell to Mr. Redwood's mare, though Tam ran'a good second, the rest being nowhere. 1 The Steward's Purse, for which 'there were four entries, was a most unsatisfactory affair. Tatnburitii was scratched early,in the afternoon, and Gossip ten minutes before the start. so that there were only.Mr. Redwood's pair to go tor it. .He declared to win with Calumny, and, in •; consequence, the latter virtually • had a walk Of course the public were horribly disgusted, and gave expression td : their feelings by hissing Calumny vehemently when brought into the saddling - paddock. The Novel Race was an'easy score tor.* Taffrail, who, last year, : was sold on the ground for, £2B. 'The following is a detailed account of • the races:—
