Letter received from Secretary, Naseby Volunteer Fire Brigade, stating that lie was instructed to tender the resignation of Mr. Walter Inder, as captain, and urging that a meeting of the Brigade to re-organise and also to appoint a captain be called. . * or\ wakd: * A copy of a telegram was read from his Worship the Mayor to the Goldfields Secretary asking if' Mr. R. Browne, sur- **» veyor, might be allowed to lay off the roads, in place of Mr. Barron, who alleges pressure of other prior engagements. His Worship informed the Council that he was aware correspondence had 'taken place between the Government and these officers, but an arrangement was t not quite effected, It was understood, however, that the survey would be at once proceeded with.
