" The'following water'race licenses vfere renewed:—W. Gt ""Forbes and party, Henry Howe,- Gr. li, Taylor, wlio was fined for not having rent-wed his license in time. John Ryan and John Fraler had their licenses renewed after paying penalties for not; having complied with Life Goldfields Act with reference" to renewals. It was brought under the notice of the Warden by some miners that it 1 was- impossible to comply with: the Goldfields rules in reference ! 'to~ putting in written ohjections to applicatioas before the Court day, as it was only-by attending at Court that it could be discovered-who were applying, persons were applying forr The Warden promised>to establish a rule before the -next- sitting, to enable the to ascertain in good time the nature of the applications to be heard-at each sitting. - He also warned the- applicants that whatever .time /was advertised ,for the sitting of the Court would be strictly attended to -unless he ' was detained by weather, and if applicantsand parlies; tp .buits-,did. not appear wlien their* names, were r -called/ the causes .would be struck out.
