THE PRESBYTERY OF OAMARU.

This Court held its quarterly meeting at Naseby on -Wednesday last. There were present—Revs. James Baird (Moderator), John Ryley, Alex. B. Todd, J. M'Cosh Smith, John Christie, and James Clark, ministers. RESERVE. Mr. Todd reported that he had a communication from Sheriff Watt, initiating that the General Government had set apart a piece of land at the Kaik, Waikouaiti, for erecting a school building for the Maoris. The Presbytery agreed to record their gratification at this result. INFIRM MINISTERS' FUND. It was reported that there was contributed to the Aged and Infirm Ministers' Fund—from Oamaru, £52 18s. 4d. ; Otepopo, £39 12s. Od.; Palmerston, £33 Bs. 6(1.; Waikouaiti, £l2 ; Hampden, £6 Is. WAITAKI. It is expected that the .Rev. Mr. Sutherland, who has recently arrived from Scotland, will go to occupy the Lower Waitaki. Permission was given to Mr. Todd to form a session at the Lower Waitaki. The Oamaru session was appointed as assessors. Mr. Baird was appointed to visit the Upper Waitaki before winter. , EXAMINATION OV RECORDS. The lecords of the Managing Committee of the Naseby congregation were examined, and attested as being correctly kept. ..
