Judgment.'.'for amount c]aimed, arid costs 135., to be paid in two jpionthly instalments. William Elliott v. Sin Wa Ching.— Debt, £B, for the carriage of flour and pollard from Palmcrston to Macraes—-'weight-being about 3 cwt. 50 lbs. The defence set up was to the effect that plaintiff, at the tiine'he bought the flour, &c, was carting a load of firewood for the defendant from the same place, .which .had been paid for since, and that the defendant did not consider that the plaintiff was entitled to charge for a little extra loading about which there had been no mention of price when the plaintiff undertook,to,carry it. Judgment for the amount claimed, 9s. costs, and £1 expenses. Eggers Bros. >. Lee Chee.—Debt £2 16s. • 6d. Judgment by default, costs 10s. Distress warrant to issue. Sarah Lavinia Rich y. Joseph Hich, her husband, praying for order that she might have protection for her earnings, and the custody of her daughter, Elizabeth Anne Rich. The defendant admitted having left his wife for fourteen months last past, and maintained that he had good, grounds for having done so, but had no objection to her havii:g protection for her earnings, nor the protection of her daughter. Order granted in terms of her petition, and possession of all goods and chattels that she had purchased during the last twelve months with her own earnings.
